Supporting Students with Disability in VET (Educators)
Building further understanding and confidence in supporting students with disability throughout their engagement and successful completion of their studies in vocational education and training (VET) is key to supporting inclusion. How you develop, deliver and assess courses can have a big impact on students’ experiences and educational outcomes. Promoting accessibility, reducing barriers to learning and responding to the needs of individuals with disability can greatly influence student success.

Voiceover: Jane Goodfellow talks about the value of this program for educators.
Jane: I’m Jane and I’ve been a trainer for 23 years. I also happen to be a trainer with a disability, which gives me that insight into the, the barriers and the difficulties that students with disability face having access to our vocational education and training courses.
I think that we are moving in the right direction in reducing these barriers for students and providing more of a positive classroom environment, particularly, when we talk about inclusion. So I think having access to resources is imperative for trainers to upskill in this area.
So an online resource like this, perfect. This is something that we can access whenever we need to. It gives us the right information and it’s going to inspire us to make that change that we need to.

Overview of Program
This program is designed for VET Educators and focuses on promoting a range of practices that support the development and implementation of inclusive delivery and assessment strategies that are responsive to the needs and requirements of students with disability.
This program consists of three modules which you can work through at your own pace. You do not need to complete it in one sitting and you can log out and log back in at any time. All three modules will take approximately (90– TBC) minutes to complete. A short quiz after each module is a tool for you to use to check your understanding. A certificate of achievement is awarded upon successful completion of all three modules.
